F.A.Q's
Q: Why choose GIBIDI Gate Automation?
A: GIBIDI (Italy) is a world leader in the design and manufacture of top quality Gate Automation Systems. They are noted for their sleek designs and robust durable systems. At the forefront of all new innovative technology, should you purchase any GIBIDI Products, you can be assured of quality and reliability.

Q: Can any type of gate/s be automated?
A: With more than 20 systems available, it is highly likely we will have an automation system suitable for you. You can study the PDF Manuals on each Kit or, alternatively, click on our “Site Survey Form”, fill it in, click “Submit” and we will contact you to advise you on what you require.

Q: Are Gate Automation Systems difficult to install?
A: We recommend that the installation of any Automation System is carried out by a qualified “Part-P” electrician. We also have an excellent Technical Service, to help you with your install, should you experience any minor difficulties.

Q: In the event of a power-cut, what should I do?
A: All of our Automation Systems have a manual release key, in the event of a power-cut, which will allow, the Gate/s to be opened and closed manually.

Q: Why choose an underground system instead of an arm system?
A: Both Systems carry out the same applications. The Underground System is slightly more expensive and takes a little longer to install. However, it is the most popular, because it is mostly hidden and therefore your Gate/s are more aesthetically pleasing. See our hydraulic v electro mechanical section.

Q: How would I stop the gate/s closing on a vehicle or a pedestrian?
A: All of our Systems include 1 x Pair of Infra-Red Photocells which project an infra red beam . Should the beam be broken by for example a car or pedestrians the gates will automatically return to their ‘open’ position.

Q: Can any automation system be set up so that my gate/s close automatically without having to re-press my remote control or access control?
A: Yes. This is known as a “Fully-Automatic”set-up, where once the Gate/s have been opened, it will automatically close on a controlled timer. “Semi- Automatic” set up is the alternative option, where once the Gate/s have been opened, you will have to press a key on your Remote Control or Access Control to close the Gate/s.
nb) We strongly recommend you purchase an extra pair of Photocells if you require the “Fully-Automatic” set-up for safety on exit.

Q: Will I need an Access Control System?
A: Not necessarily. The reason for selecting one of our Access Control Systems is for convenience and security. If the Gates are closed and a visitor arrives contact can be made from the Gate - Entrance to the House. The following options are available;

a) Basic Intercom; This is a One-Button Intercom System (Audio communication linked to a Telephone Hand-Set in the House). By pressing a key on the Telephone Hand-Set, the Gate/s can be opened and closed.

b) Intercom/Digipad; All as above, with the added facility of a Digital Code-Lock. The Digital Code-Lock allows access to anyone given the four-digit code, such as a Gardener / Postman / Milkman etc. when there is nobody in at the house.

c) Intercom/Video; All as the above Basic Intercom, with the added facility of a Video Camera. This system is ideal for situations where the Gate/s cannot be seen from the House.he Telephone Hand-Set has a Black and White or Colour TV Monitor, which activates when the call is answered from the Intercom at the Gate/s. This enables you to see who is at the Gate/s before allowing access.
